Evans Incorporated to Share Key Insights, Aviation Expertise at ATCA’s 62nd Annual Conference and Expo
The award-winning Human-Centered Solutions consulting firm’s Aviation experts to form critical part of the dialogue at the premier forum for aviation professionals, running from October 15-18, 2017

FALLS CHURCH, VIRGINIA – October 11, 2017Evans Incorporated announces today that several of its leading Aviation experts are set to speak at the upcoming 62nd Annual Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA) Conference and Expo, running from October 15-18, 2017 at the Gaylord National Resort, National Harbor, Maryland. As the premier forum for aviation professionals, ATCA’s annual events draw key corporate and government decision makers from across the industry, along with more than 3,000 attendees from more than 40 countries and over 100 exhibiting companies, government agencies, and NGOs.

The Evans Incorporated team will speak in two separate sessions, the first from 11:45am-12:15pm on Monday, October 16, and the second from 9:30-10:00am on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.

In keeping with the event’s focus on taking an in-depth look at the future of aviation, the first of Evans Incorporated team’s sessions will be titled “Help from Above: UAS as the New First Responder,” led by Tara M. Stearman from Evans Incorporated’s PropelUAS division, to be held October 16, 2017. The talk will cover the benefits and challenges of drone operations for emergency management. Looking at recent cases, such as the forest fires in the west or hurricane damage in the east. Additionally, Stearman will highlight the merits of leveraging partnerships and lessons learned from the natural disasters the U.S. has faced so far in 2017.

The second session, to be held October 17, 2017, titled “Evolving the Human Element in an Increasingly Automated World,” will feature Evans Incorporated’s Partner and Director of Aviation, Bob Etris and Senior Human Factors Consultant, Lauren Thomas. The discussion will center around the key ways organizations are working to keep the human on their teams “ahead of the loop” - instead of “in the loop” within the complex, rapidly-evolving “system of systems” that comprises the digital technologies and automation capabilities that have changed the role of the human in air traffic management overall.

The organization’s participation in this key industry event underscores the deep-rooted expertise Evans Incorporated brings from its more than 23 years supporting the rapidly-evolving Aviation and Transportation industries through a number of projects completed with the FAA. Additionally, the Evans Incorporated team has built a strong reputation for implementing sustainable solutions within the complex regulatory environment surrounding the Aviation industry. A key aspect of this is their role as “picky people pickers” who understand the immense value of hiring the right people for the job. More than just experienced in the market spaces, ideal hires Evans Incorporated targets are engaging to work with, proactive, and knowledgeable about balancing competing views and large amounts of information to work successfully toward a common goal.

“We are pleased to attend this upcoming annual ATCA Conference and continue to be a driving force in the future of the air traffic control space, as well as the Aviation industry overall,” said Sue Evans, Evans Incorporated’s Founder and CEO. “We have spent the majority of our years in business working in this fast-growing industry, and employ several of the field’s leading experts. We understand the current issues from several angles and depths and are able to act as true forces for innovation and the common good as technologies and capabilities are enabled and continue to evolve at a breakneck pace. We look forward to a productive and stimulating event this year.”
